Program Description

The Chief Legal Officers of Motus and hims & hers join their outside counsel at Latham & Watkins in an engaging and informative discussion about where we are at today and where we are likely to be going with the management of company and law firm workforces, and standard contract provisions, in the age of an indefinite pandemic like COVID-19.

The discussion begins with the panelists bringing us up to date on the status of their company/law firm’s policies on working remotely, and some of the new ways in which such policies have caused them to assess the risks, and benefits, associated with managing a remote workforce. The panelists then dive more deeply into the risks associated with what might become a long-term, if not permanent, remote workforce, including, among others, those surrounding the management of business expenses, onboarding employees, and data privacy. The discussion also addresses how a company might revisit, and, where appropriate, revise, their standard contract provisions, including, among others, their force majeure clauses, to reflect the changing risks associated with running a company during a pandemic like COVID-19. The discussion ends with a lively Q&A session during which the panelists offer additional insights into managing a company’s workforces and contracts going forward.
