Program Description

The Chief Compliance Officers of Anheuser-Busch InBev and Northrop Grumman join Kara Kapp, Partner at Cozen O’Connor, in an engaging discussion about how ethics is now a fundamental component of an effective compliance program, and how they each are addressing the myriad of challenges presented when incorporating ethics into the global compliance programs for which they are responsible.

The discussion begins with an overview of how ethics is now a fundamental part of the job responsibilities of a Chief Compliance Officer, and why. The panelists then offer their advice for how to create the necessary buy-in within management to ensure a compliance program is designed and maintained consistently with the company’s ethical and cultural values, including helping management see compliance as a profit, rather than cost, center. The panelists then speak to their own tactics for prioritizing and managing the wide range of compliance-related issues (and people) for which they are responsible, including how to effectively use data analytics and incentives to create efficiencies and better profit margins while still being sensitive to applicable privacy concerns and laws. The discussion ends with some thoughtful and practical tips on how a Chief Compliance Officer might approach his/her responsibilities during a pandemic such as COVID-19.
